The era of the old style larder units, tucked away in the corner if your kitchen with an old creaky door and a dark, dusty interior is very much a thing of the past in modern kitchen design. The design of the larder has developed to such an extent that it has become a central, integral part of the kitchen.
Innovative Larder Units
The hugely innovative Rotary Larder Unit from Hafele is a fine example of a dynamic, forward-thinking kitchen storage unit. The unit is fitted into tall kitchen units and operates on a smooth runner system - simply slide it out and rotate it to access all the goods on display in the storage baskets. When finished, simply give the larder unit a gentle push and let the soft-closing mechanism take over.
The Rotary Larder Unit is sold as a complete set and is designed for cabinets with a width of 300mm and an installed height of either 1790-2040mm or 1905-2155mm. Five mesh wire baskets are supplied, which can be placed in whatever position you desire, depending on what you want to store in the unit. The entire set consists of the following:
- Hanging Frame: this is made from steel with a silver epoxy coated, height adjustable frame.
- Top and Bottom Runners: zinc-plated steel, full extension, ball cage top runner with a damper and self closing bottom roller runner with damper.
- 5 x Storage Baskets: 250mm for fitting into 300m wide cabinets
- 10 x Basket Hanging Clips
- 2 x Door Panel Mounting Bars
- 2 x Door Panel Hanging Plates

The Rotary Larder Unit is a fantastic piece of kitchen storage that can be used to hold food packets, jars, bottles, utensils and more. It has a total load bearing capacity of 80kg - as long as you don't obviously overload it, this is plenty for most kitchens. The unit can be installed by kitchen fitters and competent DIYers.
